Dear Friend:
Are you looking forward to 2012?
Did you open your heart to the Savior? You know, the baby Jesus! Looking at your Nativity Scene did you look at each of the characters who were present to worship and adore the baby?
Everyone present had a calling! They opened their heart to the Savior. What can you expect in 2012? Well, if you truly get the message of Christmas then you expect to experience meaning and purpose for your life. Your focus will shift from you to Him. You get it! You know His rich heartfelt mercy and love for you!
Knowing that, then your heart is open to the Savior and because of that your heart will be open to others. Christmas can occur for you 365 days, every 24 hours, 7 days a week.
If you did not focus on the Savior for Christmas consider before you put your Nativity Scene away to look it over and understand the true meaning of Christmas. Hey, if you don't have a Nativity Scene they are really discounted at the stores right now, you may want to pick one up.
Peace on Earth!
Happy New Year!

Limited or Unlimited
Dear Friends:
I bought a gift for Christmas and it had an unlimited warranty. It is funny because one must remember , an unlimited warranty would actually only be limited by the life of the company that offered the warranty in the first place. If the company closes that product is no longer covered.
This season we need to remember that God is not going anywhere. He is not shutting down. He was and is and will always be! Take that thought with you today. Our Lord is omnipotent which means-having unlimited power. He guarantees that He covers you. What will your response be to this powerful name? Will you put out your hands and receive this free unlimited power? That’s eternity!
Revelation 19:6 (NKJV) “And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the[Lord God Omnipotent (having UNLIMITED power, able to do anything, almighty, all-powerful) reigns!”
We walk around shopping, wrapping gifts, baking and writing greetings something/anything to help us get into the Christmas Spirit.
The only way we can experience Christmas is through the word of His truth, which is the baby Jesus, the name above all names. Put on a traditional Christmas song, sit alone, maybe in your car (but be alone) just let the “PRINCE OF PEACE” give you unlimited peace.
Revelation 19:13 (NKJV) “He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.”
PRAYER: Father in heaven thank You for the birth of our savior. I choose your unlimited power. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Merry Christmas!

HEARTFELT CHRISTMAS
The event of Christ is the only event in human history that promises relocation and centering, meaning and purpose. The promise and its fulfillment evoke passionate and HEARTFELT praise and thanks,s especially for those aware of their own brokenness and the healing which Christ brings into their lives. -Robert Webber, The New Worship Awakening: What's Old is New Again.
Ask God to show you your brokenness and what part He wants to heal this Christmas.
Hebrews 4:13 (NIV) Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

RESTING PLACE WITHIN YOUR HEART
Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
What a great thing to remember. Don't let the glitter and glamour of the Holidays crowd out the real meaning of Christmas in your life.
It is your Spiritual act of worship to create a resting place for Jesus within your heart.
PRAYER: I need Your help to clean the closets my heart for your arrival. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Christmas Spirit
Looking at your Christmas decorations, contemplating "Where will I get the energy for decorating?"
Are you saying "I don't feel like decorating? Let's skip Christmas."
Then you ask "Why do I decorate, what is the point?"
You may have already asked others in the house to decorate with you and you got a negative response like "I'm to busy, don't have the time!"
Or maybe you just jumped right in and said "Let the decorating begin!"
You may have jumped in and said "Let's get this over with." You did it all out of expectations from others in the family or pressure from the messages the world sends like "Make it look good because if it looks good you are good."
What was your mind, heart and spirit like as you were decorating?
If you have not started yet, ask yourself (or maybe you already did) "Where is my Christmas Spirit?"
In the next couple weeks, let us explore together where will the "Christmas Spirit" come from? Will it be a feeling? Will we get a sudden jolt of energy and joy that we will be able to decorate, cook, bake, write Christmas cards, attend Christmas parties, and finally visit with family we have not been talking to?
How will we get the Spirit? What should I be feeling right now as I prepare?
Well, I think for today I will just let you figure out where you are with the idea of Christmas. After all it is 28 days away. Just sayin!

DELIVER US FROM EVIL
2 Timothy 4:16-18 (NKJV)
At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them.
The Lord Is Faithful
But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!
The Devil preys around during the Holidays to devour us. His greatest tactic is making us feel lonely, like no one cares. He cares! Cast all your cares to Him, because he loves you!
I WILL DELIVER YOU FROM EVERY EVIL WORK AND PRESERVE YOU! -GOD-
Believe it, receive it!
PRAYER: Father I believe that You will deliver me from evil. I will never be alone for You are with me. Thank You. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

DO YOU LOVE THE LORD?
“Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life will I satisfy him
and show him my salvation.” Psalm 91:14-16 NIV
I find this passage in Psalm 91 very uplifting. Ask yourself "Do you love the Lord?" If your answer is yes, continue reading.
Try putting your name in like I did.
"Because He loves (put your name here) Elaine," says the Lord,
"I will rescue Elaine;
I will protect her, for she acknowledges me.
She will call upon Me, and I will answer her;
I will be with her in trouble,
I will deliver her and honor her.
With long life will I satisfy her and show her my salvation."
I hope these words soothe your soul for the day!

GOD, I'M TELLING THE WORLD WHAT YOU DO
PSALM 73:25-28
You're all I want in heaven!
You're all I want on earth!
When my skin sags and my bones get brittle,
God is rock-firm and faithful.
Look! Those who left you are falling apart!
Deserters, they'll never be heard from again.
But I'm in the very presence of God—
oh, how refreshing it is!
I've made Lord God my home.
God, I'm telling the world what you do!
It seems at times as if the dishonest people are prevailing in our world. They have the best of best.
What will happen at the end of your life? What will happen at the end of their life?
Our eternity is with God. Time spent with God in eternity will be longer than our time here on earth.
What really matters? The Psalmist suggests to us what he did:
I've made Lord God my home.

TIPS FOR THE DAYS AHEAD
If you catch yourself saying:
I can't do this.
I'm to tired.
I have these aches and pains, when they go away then I will...
After I figure out what this is that is going on in my body then I will...
I am never going to amount to anything.
Life is hopeless, things will never change around here.
I give up.
I am weary.
I am at my lowest point, it can't get any lower.
I am no good.
I have nothing left in me to give.
I can't figure out what is going on.
My Mom and Dad said "You are lazy", they are right!
I am lazy.
I am procrastinator.
What if I never make it!
I have caught myself saying some of these things too!
"The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. (Proverbs 18:21 NIV)." or
"Words kill, words give life;
they're either poison or fruit—you choose.(Proverbs 18:21 The Message)."
BASICALLY GOD IS SAYING TO US "STOP IT!" :)
How to Stop Worrying!
1. pray this prayer 1st
The Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
2. If you like to bake or cook, make something for someone else and bring it over to there house.
3. Write a note to someone with encouraging kind words. Just tell someone you love them.
4. Where ever you go, make it your goal to make someone smile.
5. a. Exercise, b. stretch, c. go for a walk. Start small by walking up and down your house stairs. Make a choice.
BASICALLY TAKE YOUR EYES OFF YOURSELF AND PUT THEM ON SOMEONE ELSE OR SOMETHING!

BRAIN FITNESS PART 2
PART 2 - Acceptance: submit yourself to God and the truth about who He is, who you are and how He wants His people to think and live.
Matthew 14:19a And He directed the people to sit down on the grass.
Matthew 5: 1-2 When Jesus saw His ministry drawing huge crowds, He climbed a hillside. Those who were apprenticed to Him, the committed, climbed with Him. Arriving at a quiet place, He sat down and taught His climbing companions.
Are you teachable (apprenticed, committed, willing to listen, being able to take constructive criticism and make changes.)?
Ephesians 4:22-24 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
In Part 1 you made a list of changes and improvements.
Do you really understand and believe in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit?
God Is Who He said He is!
Matt. 6:9. God is our Father.
Luke 1:37. God is all-powerful.
John 4:24. God is spirit.

BRAIN FITNESS PART 1
What luck for rulers, that men do not think. ~Adolph Hitler
Did you ever stop to think, and forget to start again? ~Winnie the Pooh
No problem can withstand the assault of sustained thinking. ~Voltaire
Too often we... enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought. ~John F. Kennedy
Invest a few moments in thinking. It will pay good interest. ~Author Unknown
We spend our days in deliberating, and we end them without coming to any resolve. ~L'Estrange
Our job is not to make up anybody's mind, but to open minds and to make the agony of the decision-making so intense you can escape only by thinking. ~Author Unknown
The world we have created is a product of our thinking; it cannot be changed without changing our thinking. ~Albert Einstein
No amount of energy will take the place of thought. A strenuous life with its eyes shut is a kind of wild insanity. ~Henry Van Dyke
Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? Matthew 9:4
Jesus brings up something important, thoughts can come out of our hearts. We usually think of thoughts coming from the mind.
My challenge for you today is to take a look at your thoughts. Whether from the heart or mind a person must be able to (1) be aware of their thoughts and take inventory (2) acceptance-submit yourself to God and the truth about who He is, who you are and how He wants His people to think and live (3) take action in order to either keep that thought alive or attempt to dispel it.
If you are able to determine both (1) and (2), then (3) will come easier. You have to know what the problem is in order to fix it.
Let the brain fitness begin.
(1) Aware there is problems. Take inventory of changes/improvements that may need to be made. Some examples can be:
> Temptations: lack of self-control, lack of self-discipline, emotionalism/drama, over reacting, worry, anxiety
> Complaining and pity parties about: your weight, bad habits, past hurts, asking why me, loss of loved one, unresolved issues, relationship, finances, illness.
> Pride- do you think you are better than others?
> To much counsel from others.
> Expectations of others. (Dangerous especially if you are trying to anticipate the way a person SHOULD react and deal with situations)
> Personality-are you trying to be someone you are not? Know your personality
> Time wasted on thoughts - how much?
> Trouble making decisions.
> Planning your schedule and time management.
> Putting yourself down-what do you say about yourself? Are you agreeing with negative things others have said about you recently or a long time ago?
> “I” syndrome – you start many of your sentences with “I.”
> Have you been honoring your Mother and Father?
Make your list and then you can move to part (2) Acceptance.

COMPLACENCY IS MURDER
"Because you hated Knowledge
and had nothing to do with the Fear-of-God,
Because you wouldn't take my advice
and brushed aside all my offers to train you,
Well, you've made your bed—now lie in it;
you wanted your own way—now, how do you like it?
Don't you see what happens, you simpletons, you idiots?
Carelessness kills; complacency is murder.
First pay attention to me, and then relax.
Now you can take it easy—you're in good hands." Proverbs 1:29:33 (MSG)
Dear Friend:
Can you breath a sigh of relief today or are you uneasy regarding life?
Jesus says "first pay attention to me, and then relax. Now you can take it easy-you're in good hands."
Hands of the Almighty or hands of the world?! So many false philosophies out there.
Just do it!
Don't think about it,go with it!
Do what feels good!
You don't like it, dispose of it!
That means disposable marriages, babies, relationships!
What warped philosophies are you following?
When Joseph's brothers were jealous of him they took matters into their own hands. They plotted to dump Joseph down a well. At the last minute they changed their minds and instead sold him as a slave. They covered up their scheme by explaining to their Father that Joseph died, killed by some animal.
That day the brothers lost their "peace of mind." They could not take it easy! They lived with that decisions for many years.
God and only the one true God allowed them to be in agony of their decision for many years. In the end God brought mercy on them and allowed them to be reunited with their brother Joseph. Joseph found a way to forgive the brothers.
Do you have sore feelings about a past situation that your not willing to forgive?
Is it time for you to forgive and set things straight?
Did you notice that I said "God allowed?" God gives us free will.
Do the right thing by seeking Jesus today. "Take it Easy?"
or
Put your head on your pillow at night with "no peace?"
God's rich mercy brought the brothers back together. He maybe asking you to bring things back together. God won't stop trying to convince you to heal. He loves you way too much!
PRAYER: Father in heaven give me to courage to do the right things daily. Can you help me with.............. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
and had nothing to do with the Fear-of-God,
Because you wouldn't take my advice
and brushed aside all my offers to train you,
Well, you've made your bed—now lie in it;
you wanted your own way—now, how do you like it?

I DARE YOU
TYRANNY OF URGENCY
"Anything less than a conscious commitment to the important is an unconscious commitment to the unimportant."
Stephen Covey
Do you ever wish for a 30 hour day?
Do you have trouble committing to bible study, personal bible reading time, church, anything spiritual?
It's seems that there clearly is a force out there trying to convince you with this list of excuses:
1. I'll get to the reading.
2. But I have to work. Work gets me money so I can get my needs met.
3. I know what the bible says "Jesus died for me..."
4. It is really important I get to the grocery store...we need food after all.
5. After the house is clean I'll get to it.
6. Sunday is the only day I can sleep in.
Blah, Blah, Blah
Every time without a doubt when I put God first I find I have more time than I ever IMAGINED!
The adversary will have you disagree with me on this point.
the only way you will know if I am telling the truth is by me
DARING YOU TO JUST TRY IT DAILY. Put God first by
1. Praying for your day, asking God to help you to respond righteously, be in the moment, be and do what He wants you to do today!
2. Read His word. There is so many on-line and twitter devotions today, no excuses!
The liar, prevaricator, beguiler, cheater, deceiver, trickster, and cheat wants you to believe there is NEVER ENOUGH TIME!
Jesus gave us an example to go to the Father first. The biggest example was before He went to the cross. I don't think one can willingly go to the cross without knowing the Father's will.
When he had finished praying, Jesus left with his disciples and crossed the Kidron Valley. On the other side there was a garden, and he and his disciples went into it. Now Judas, who betrayed him, knew the place, because Jesus had often met there with his disciples. So Judas came to the garden, guiding a detachment of soldiers and some officials from the chief priests and the Pharisees. They were carrying torches, lanterns and weapons.Jesus, knowing all that was going to happen to him, went out and asked them, “Who is it you want?” (John 18:1-4 NIV)
Jesus prayed, He listened, He acted, He knew what the Father wanted. This is PEACE OF MIND!
Let's pray: Father in heaven help me deliver me from evil.
GO AHEAD I DARE YOU! Be consistent try this for 7 days straight and write me back and tell me what happened.

ALL IS WELL
Is all well?
Did you know that love walked amongst us?
This by far is the most epic news ever recorded on this earth.
We have it recorded the word came to walk amongst.
Do you believe that?
Take a moment and think about the word of life that breathed life into you and me is came on earth as man.
We think the past is in the past He is not here now.
But He said he must leave so the Holy Spirit can come.
That means that love still walks amongst us.
How could, should, would, that make your life different.
It must make our life different. It must has an effect on you and me. It brings me to tears. It brings me joy. It fills my being to ache for the reality to be with Jesus. But for now in the flesh on earth I have the Spirit. I am touched by the Spirit. The Spirit dwells in me. He abides with me. I must just ask. Ask for love. I can not love on my. I can't MAKE anyone happy. I can only love and they can receive love or reject love. It is a choice.
The apostles were so confused about this love that walked with them. But in the end God touched them, blessed them and HE TOOK THE DOUBT AND FEAR AWAY. He must touch you, you must ask for it. We can't do life in our own strength. We weren't designed that way. Love walks with you be touched In Jesus name. I pray that over everyone who reads this.
Be loved
feel loved
then
give that Spirit led love out
trigger the hearts of others and allow God to use you!
FEEL THE LOVE! ALL IS WELL!
Luke 24:50 When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them.

You have chosen…Wisely
But choose wisely, for while the true Grail will bring you life, the false Grail will take it from you”, said the Grail Knight. Indiana Jones chose the grail and the Grail Knight responded “You have chosen… wisely.”
As I drove away from church, I heard a whisper in my head quoting these famous lines from the Indiana Jones movie. The night before that, a lot was whirling through my head as things in my home were getting complicated. My mind had made up every excuse not to attend church. I asked God for peace. No peace came with my decision of not going. I’m always praying that I would clearly know the will of the Father with the sign of peace from Him. In the end, peace came when I heard the whisper “just go, you go alone.” I left a house full of family members and overnight guests, feeling that peace that passes all understanding.
At moments in the car there was a battle in my mind. I was thinking: “If you go home that would be good. There is a ministry there after all.” Next thought: “But seek first the kingdom of heaven and His righteousness and all shall be added.” I don’t want to seem religious about church to anyone, but I am most concerned about following the Spirit of God. I was blessed with a great fellowship and message at church.
It was when I was driving home that I heard the whisper from God: “You chose wisely.” Lol! “God you are funny quoting a movie,” I thought. That day I became very aware of God and sensed His perspective in life’s circumstances. There was clarity! It was like God and I were fully connected. I could cry now as I write this because I sensed God saying: “Tell my people Elaine, that my word is true. When you seek me first all shall be added.” I experienced a closer bond with God and that matters more than any material blessing God can give me. My passion is that others will experience that too!
Rotten Tomatoes gave Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade a whopping review of 89%. Audiences liked it at 91%. The story of a crusade still intrigues many audiences. A crusade needs person to be extremely focused and committed towards achieving the end results. Our crusade is to choose wisely.
PRAYER: Lord, thank You for each day where Your mercies are new. Help me to choose wisely.
BIBLE VERSE: “Grow a wise heart—you’ll do yourself a favor; keep a clear head—you’ll find a good life” (Proverbs 19:8 MSG).

CATCH YOUR EYE
I have a butterfly bush and a big old butterfly caught my eye. It was purple with black. Its poor wings were frail and parts were broken off. I was able to take a picture very close to it and it did not try to fly away.
It reminded me of visiting the elderly home. I would go in and visit some and they would not move or respond. I realized quickly that growing old with grace is very hard. It is of course very hard for the residence but it is equally hard for the nurses and helpers.
At first I was fighting for the rights of the residence. One lady would cry and cry for help and yet I would not see a nurse appear. After a while I learned which elderly were more demanding than the others and actually cried wolf for help. Then I began to understand why the nurses did not come running right away because everything was urgent to the resident. It is a very hard job for the nurses. I was always siding with the elderly but noticed the nurses had to know the patient and have wisdom.
I just would walk around praying the nurses would have a huge amount of grace to give all day. I prayed that the elderly would grow old with grace and dignity.
I knew that God would agree with that prayer too! At times I wish each person would know how much God had loved them and was there with them. I realized that those that did not have that assurance were in more pain and anguish.
I learned from the nurses that the residence that could quote scripture never lost the memory of scripture even if they had elzheimer. The nurses marveled and stated "it was always with them till the end." Wow! Isn't that God's promise? He would be with us till the end!
While rereading the Gospel of John around this same time of discovering the butterfly. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Jesus was the same as the spoken word of God, therefore if we memorize scripture we are carrying Jesus with us. We should know this basic truth Jesus is the word !
I always ask questions when I hit upon such a truth as this. If you really understood that Jesus was in the beginning, he is the spoken promise of God, wouldn't you want to really know the words of God? Such a profound truth is magnificent. It was hidden in the hearts of the elderly and they know it till the end.
Asking questions about God's word is okay. In fact just don't let me quote it pick it up and read it for yourself.
The old butterfly is completing His circle of life. We too will stop breathing one day. If you are already reading the bible my prayer is that you really connect with the God who created you. The point of reading the word is to catch your eye and hopefully you remember it. Maybe while your in the grocery line or whatever you will remember and share!
PRAYER: Please help me to read the word and understand it. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood[a] it.

TWITTERLAND
I just googled twitter language. I've been asking what does @ mean before your twitter name. Find out it means your handle (is that like our CB days!) or twitter name/user name.
How about the funny use of words that start with a # symbol called hashtag. What is a hashtag? The pound sign (#) in Twitter land is referred to as a hashtag. Use # in front of a topic or trend that you wish to create a topic for, or which people are discussing. An example of this can go like this. Going skydiving #noregretssummer2011. Twitter search results for “#noregretssummer2011 and be seen by those looking at the same topic. Useful? Depends.
Trending topics are exactly what they sound like: They are what the majority of people on Twitter are talking about at the moment. This is where you can find the latest things in the news whether good or bad.
Talking in code and creating cute sayings have become an art today. It is fun and sort of addictive. Who is going to create the new hashtag and will it go viral?
Who said these words? Why did he say them? Have you have just taken a statement and just asked "who said this, why did this person say this, what are they saying?"
I want to make up something. #bubbletalk
It's the bubble in comic strip where you read what someone is thinking or saying. I had a bubble thought as I read the bible about King David. King David picked by God to be King over Israel had a moment where he had an affair with Bathsheba. After that he begins to not have peace in life. A prophet Nathan comes to David and tells him a story about a man who did something just as David did and at the end of the story David says "who is this man he must die." Nathan says "that man is you."
If I were to write a comic strip with the bubbletalk between them would go on and David's says, “I have sinned against the LORD.” Nathan replied, “The LORD has taken away your sin. You are not going to die."
I have found in Twitterland that as each person tweets people are reading and listening. At least I think so.
In David's bubbletalk with Nathan he listened and responded with the remorse. He admitted to the affair. As I read in 2 Samuel 12 and on, the bubbletalk for David goes on. His remorse causes him to feel horrible and repent. But facing God with what he did took time and work. Restoring our relationship with God when we have done something wrong takes time and sometimes consequences. David's consequence was that Bathsheba became pregnant and the baby died.
Do you know a person who did something wrong, maybe even yourself, but deep down really have a good heart? David was one of those people yet God still loved him and chose his descendents to be Jesus bloodline. God never gives up on you or your friend or person who did wrong yet has a good heart. When we know someones heart we give them more chances. We should all be in awe of God's forgiving merciful heart.
I am filled today with this reality of God's character. How about you? I wish this lesson I am writing can fit in a tweet, but it can't. I can only pray that you see that God is real and wants a relationship with you unconditionally. WOW!
Comments on this TwitterLand would be appreciated. What do you think, is it hard for you to know God, what is good about it, what is bad about it? Do you like twitter? Do you use it, how often and why?
The same can be asked about God do you love Him, bubbletalk with Him, seek Him, how often?
Twitterland vs. bubbletalk with God. Interesting?

THE HELP
Saw the movie The Help. Everyone should see this movie. It is so touching. It encompasses so much about life. Caring for others, loving others, PRAYING for others not hating your enemies. Lessons I feel we can all use. Even where is our life going and do we have courage to stand up for what we think is right.
In one scene where the preacher is talking about the mission of Moses. Moses commissioned by God had to speak for his people. He did not feel he was capable. Sometimes we do not feel we would be adequate for a job. But God is saying otherwise. Sometimes we need to pray and ask God "are you really wanting me to do this or that?" Dismissing things with our thoughts stops the flow God wants to create in each of us.
Could it be that God is calling our country back to family values and morals and we ignore His calling?
It is definitely something to pray about. Slowing down and caring for others takes time. Some people fill their schedules so much that they don't allow for caring moments.
Get back in tune with your Lord. What is He calling you to do?
Pray with me: Father today how can I serve you? What are you calling me to do?
Maybe the answer will be bake some muffins and give them to someone. I don't know, but you will know if you take the time to listen.

AUDIENCE OF ONE!
AUDIENCE OF ONE
I woke up this morning with a whisper from God "read Proverbs 3." Before I read it I asked God to tell me what I personally need to understand from the word. I became the Audience of one. Whenever that happens I sort of get excited to see what God has for me to read and learn. Read Proverbs 3 for yourself and ask like I did "what do you want me to learn." Proverbs 3 has the famous verses 5-6, which is great to memorize. But right after those verses is:
Proverbs 3:7-8 Don't assume that you know it all.
Run to God! Run from evil!
Your body will glow with health,
your very bones will vibrate with life!
I always feel as if I need to know the answers to so many things. Sometimes I wonder if I stay humble. You know answering many bible questions frequently and being deeply passionate about Christ is great. But I need to stay humble about that knowledge/wisdom. So I shot up a prayer of repentance. So many times I find myself alone about moral subjects and I speak out and many don't agree with me. I ask God "am I coming on to strong. Do I have to high of expectations for others?"
I just know I could always use wisdom when to say anything. I do want to stay humble.
I am reminded of another scripture "humble yourself in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up."(James 4:12)
Maybe as you read this you are convicted about your humble state or lack of. Let's pray about it:
Lord forgive me for not always being humble. Help me to have your peace loving wisdom. In Jesus Name. amen.
I sense a deep connection with God. I love to be reminded of God's wisdom and passion to have us close by Him to learn and let things go. Why do we need to know it all? I mean do I lack faith to just trust God,really just stop my wasted thoughts on trying to guess and figure things out and let God take it all? What about you, do you need to know it all or can you let go and let God?
Be the audience of one before God and find out. So cool how that verse ends in verse 8 check it out
Your body will glow with health,
your very bones will vibrate with life!
Need I say anymore?

IT'S A LIFESTYLE
IT'S A LIFESTYLE
"You want forgiveness, get religion" said Peter Parker in Spider-Man Three. He was talking to a co-worker. That co-worker ends up in the next scene in church.
When I heard this in the movie and saw the young man actually show up in church I found that interesting. Do most of us associate religion with a building, a priest and a bunch of rules? Is that what the writer of Spider-Man expects most of us to relate to?
I just wonder if that is the reason for our youth being so confused and turned off? Mainly because most adults are not even going to the building to hear the priest and they definitely are not following the rules.
I visited with a friend recently that was very concerned about her son and his lifestyle choices. She has been trying for years to get off work on Sunday's so she could spend a day taking the family to church. I asked "have you prayed about this?" She responded "yes, over and over." I began to pray "Lord, why give me a word to tell her." She does faithfully go to Wednesday night bible studies and bring her younger daughter that same night to a church program. I asked "how long have you been doing this?" "Years" was her response. "Even now on Wednesday we got my husband's brother going to bible study" she shared.
The word that flowed out of mouth "it's a lifestyle not religion." The youth of today have been turned off by the building and rules. They need parents to show them a lifestyle where Jesus is relationship with them. Each day Monday through Sunday we show the relationship we have Jesus. "God is more interested in you showing this lifestyle and knows this will have more effect on your son than going to church on Sunday" I stated. Wow!
I could not wait to sit down and share this conversation with you. How is your lifestyle is it real and showing that you have a daily relationship/friendship with Jesus? If your children are blessed with that observation of lifestyle even if they are not living it right now God will NOT let those examples go when it comes time for your children to parent. It is the generational blessing! We love to talk about curses on our generation, but let's talk about God and his blessings and faithfulness to our next generation. Our youth need our examples. They need to hear our God stories and see us reading and studying the bible.
Prayer: Father in heaven let me have a relationship with you that becomes my daily lifestyle. May it set an example for the next generation. In Jesus mighty name I pray. Amen.
I pray a blessing on your lifestyle!
If you know someone who has a great lifestyle that includes a relationship with Christ. Send them a note encourage/bless them today.

Adrenaline Boost
When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls! Hebrews 12:3 (THE MESSAGE)
I wish I could tweet you this to your phone. I hope it encourages you the way it did for me today!
I have an image in my mind when I read this verse. I see myself thinking all sorts of thoughts about what is going on in my life. I suddenly am convicted that these thoughts are not going anywhere. Somethings in life things are out of my control. Some are filled with fear and uncertainty or a desire of me wishing things would get resolved, today! (impatience I guess) I am on one train on a track and suddenly what just happens is I pull a lever and I go off "Elaine's track" and switch to "God's track." I begin to allow my mind to review the God story. His son who he brought to earth. I review the last 3 years of Jesus life. Giving, loving, sharing, begging, caring for God's people. Ultimately all of those acts of kindness ends. Why does it end? Because Jesus gets falsely accused and murdered.
See what happens? My mind went another direction and I sense God's love all over again. I am strengthened renewed, loved by the Savior who saved me from destruction. Death separated from God. I will not be separated because Jesus was the final blood sacrifice and I am saved. All of us sinners were saved by grace.

Woodpecker, Sit Still!
Woodpecker
Your head
with your long neck
it is red
you bounce around
making way to be fed
and then you found
the spot to drill
your neck pounds
and you eat your fill.
I try to take your picture
but you don't sit still.

Say too much instead of showing.
Wrote a saying, changed the words.

WHAT I REALLY WANT TO SAY is...
I know Jesus
He is my personal friend
I want to introduce you to Him
He is friendly
kind
trustworthy
fun-loving
caring
peaceful
gracious
loving
super special
grateful
good
nice
interesting
smart
Do you want to know people like Him?
Do you want to meet Him?
He has been someone I want to be near, to get to know. I have found some in my life to not be like be these things.
I have trouble opening my heart to others because at times I have felt rejected, sad, confused, distracted so I shut myself in and avoid trying to understand who He is and where He came from. At times I let others define who He is and where He came from and they were wrong. When you have been hurt and not sure about what to think of Him it is hard to open your heart.
There is a really good book you can read about Him before you even meet Him face to face. It is a trustworthy book and a good read. This book you have to read it slowly. I can really recommend that after you read the book you will ask Him if you can meet Him. someday and hang out with Him forever. I have met many who after reading this book want to meet Him and be His friend and many become lifetime friends.
I guarantee this will be worth it. You won't regret reading this book. Do you know the feeling when you want to tell someone about someone and you are not given the chance? You feel inside like the match of you two meeting will be so good for you both and you just want it so bad for them both. That is how I feel. So I wrote this down in the hope that this message reaches you and you get to meet Him.
I introduce you now to Jesus!
Read about Him in the bible.
Go for it!

Reflections of my Mother. I Miss my Mom!
The anniversary to my mom's going home to the Lord is June 13, it will be 2 years.
What is it with our subconscious mind? It just dreams about her and grieves at this time.
Things I miss about my mom.
Her smile
Her laugh (simply the best!)
Her forgetfulness and then her honesty in fessing up to forgetfulness.
Her love for shopping.
Her love of news and the world events and movie stars.
Her love for small things like good food. Especially steak, burger king Jr. burgers, sweet tea, diet coke and frozen Twinkies.
The way Her eyes lit up when she smelled flowers. She loved red geraniums, yellow or orange marigolds , lilacs, roses.
The way Her eyes lit up when she saw a baby or small child.
The way she quoted the bible and the zeal she had for Jesus.
Her love gadgets, AS SEEN ON TV. LOL!
Her love to go to lunch, especially, Neiman Marcus. YUM!
Her love for her children and grandkids. It could not be measured.
Her Love for jazz music.
Jesus is so lucky to have my mom near Him. My mom is so blessed to be with HIM.

Reflection of Yesterday and scripture.
Saw my neighbor this morning. When she was down yesterday she was so blessed by God and God did not want her to be down. Not only did we do lunch, an unexpected visit from a friend happened and then her son out of the blue invited her to dinner. She said she took a 2 hour nap yesterday. OM! She was still on a high with delight. What a blessing she was to me.
Something happened to me recently a verse popped in my head and now I have each day recited it and now I am at a point of reading the chapter in the bible before and after. Next I will be doing a word study on some frequent usage of words that stood out to me. This is how it works for me and God.
Scripture for a beloved friend that was dying of cancer came to me after they went home to be with the Lord. I believe that was in Psalm 13. I will look that up later and confirm. Psalm 63 became almost a whole summer once and then a teaching for a women's bible study called Loving God.
The women at the well in John 4 was buzzing in my head summers ago and I just got up every day and the Lord said to me "read it again." That went on for 1 month. I went to Canada during that time and the word became even richer to me. That's what nature does. It quiets your soul, so you can hear from God. The women at the well taught me the power of Jesus connection with women. How he took a frail, scared, hurting women and made her so comfortable that it allowed her to bare her soul be forgiven and then be available to tell others. A great story of redemption.
I guess I am sharing now what profound pieces of scripture God wanted me to learn. The Lord's Prayer was another summer. How beautiful to pray that prayer in the first person. Like:
My Father who is in heaven hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give me today my daily bread. Forgive me my debts as I also have forgiven my debtors. (I make a list of those in my prayer) And lead me not into temptation, but deliver me and my family from the evil one.
Taking the word seriously and personally.

Touched by an Elderly Neighbor
God was on dual duty today bringing my neighbor and I together. Let me explain. In the morning I try as best as I can remember to pray, God use me today and put me where you need me. I pray that I would be sensitive enough to follow the Spirit.
As I was pulling out of the driveway and got to the apron before the street. I looked over and my 93 year old neighbor, Karen, was pulling in the driveway. I feel prompted at times to call her when there is bad weather to check on her or at other times. Today as I gazed over I heard the whisper of God say "go ask her to go to lunch." I hesitated because you see I had my "to do list." Now I quite frequently ask to be used by God and then in the next moment say "but" I have this or that to do and at the end of the day ask "Well God why did you not use me?". So as I address these arguments in my head and make a decisions to stop and obey, I witness a blessing. I got out of my car and approached her she began to chat with me. Within minutes our conversation got distracted by a 3 to 4 inch black butterfly (lined with yellow). It was so noticeable as it fluttered between us and hovered that I stopped and commented on it. "You see I love butterflies" I said. "They are always a reminder from God that I am a new creation in Christ" I said. She then responded "We are new creations." Get this! The butterfly then landed on her and stayed for a good while and then flew away. It was a very distinct moment that could not be ignored. We did go to lunch and I so enjoy Karen's history and stories. She said to me as we were about to part "this really made my day to go to lunch, I was not looking forward to this afternoon because I am losing my friends and have been very sad, thank you so much." (Long story as to why she was losing her friends) She then grabbed me and gave me a hug and kiss on the cheek. She in all the 6 years I have lived here has never hugged and kissed me. As I got back in my car I grabbed my cheek and thought to myself "this was like a kiss from my mom (who is now longer on earth and I miss her so much and the 2 year Anniversary to her death is coming in a week). I cried and as the tears flowed I thanked God for such a sweet visit and for feeling loved. That I felt so loved by God that he figured out a way to show me His concern and love for me today. I know Karen was touched and so was I. God did a dual deal. PTL! (Praise the Lord)
