Spam Mail..I can't

Dear Friend:

...take it anymore!" Are you receiving a lot of Spam Mail these days? I am too! I am wasting so much time deleting my e-mail. I get about forty a day. I am spending more time dumping in that little garbage can than I can handle. Ugh!! I am frustrated. Do you have the same problem? I have my filter turned up as high as it can go.

If every day of my life I focused on this Spam mail. Letting it bother me so much. I think I would be like a time bomb. Ready to explode if anyone or anything sets me off.

I liken this frustration to people or things that I come across every day. That person or thing is right in my face screaming for attention. It wears me down. Are you worn down? Feeling like, I just can't take this anymore? That's life!

How do I detach and not allow myself to explode. Yes, I have to have self-control. But on certain days I just want to let it rip! Just be ugly. Have you felt that way?

Wow! I sound like such a "Debbie Downer" but I am just being really honest with myself. Can you be honest with yourself?

What is missing in your life? Maybe that dream not being fulfilled, that job you want, that house, that car, that boyfriend, that girlfriend....the list can goes on and on. But look at the list I just made.
Isn’t there more to life to? How about the one person who can solve all the things in my life?

"But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness" (Galatians 5:22 NLT).

When I look at this list that is the fruits of the spirit. I believe this is the most important list I can make each day. Focus on and desire to want to have more of these qualities.

This is intended to be a simple letter from my Heart 2 your Heart. I want to be real with you. It is hard at times. I can say it is fulfilling once I settle down and seek God first. It helps! I have come to a place of true peace.

How exciting!
I want this message to inspire you to want:  fruit of the spirit>frustration.

Don’t forget the thanksgiving. Be grateful takes my one track mind away from frustration. I am thanking God for: 1. The sun shining. 2. My daughters smile 3. My husband’s kind words. 4. My ministry. 5. A double chocolate donut. 6. Food to eat.  7. A friend checked in on me today. 8. A lady said HI at the grocery store….on and on.
Join me won’t you? The journey of life will become brighter. Make your thankful list right in the middle of chaos that is going on.

Let's pray about it:
Father in heaven help me to want more of You and the fruits of the Spirit. Help me to sense You are developing more inside of me and it is showing on the outside. Thank You for life. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

GO TO THE THRONE

before the phone....

Why do I always flap my jaw before others first? When I have a lot going on, why not run to Jesus?
It's funny, not funny. But I hear the Lord calling me and giving me solutions to slow down. Yet, I still race ahead. Sort of listening, but not listening. You know what I mean?

My disciplines have to be constant. Praying before I do things is the number one thing. And then most importantly. In all things.....let me say that again....in all things I give thanks.

Thank you Lord for the planning of my days. Thank you Lord for showing me order. Thank you Lord for your calm Spirit (it always WINS!)

Here is another thought. If your have a good friend and they are talking to you and you realize that they did not go to God with their dilemma encourage them to. I am thankful when recently my daughter encouraged me to.

1 Thess. 5:17-18 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Friend have a nice day.
Go to the throne before the phone.
Truly Truly it works.
Love from above.

A CALM MIND THAT WINS

Dear Friend:

Do you want a calm mind that wins?!

Start with this prayer:
Teach me oh Lord how to have a calm mind that wins.
Thank You Lord.
I can do this but only with You. Amen.

Read God's word. Believe that you can have these things with Christ. From each scripture below you can affirm the truth of God's word.

1.  Isaiah 26:3- I can have a mind steadfast on you.

2.  Matthew 22:37-I can love you with all my mind.

3.  Colossians 3:2-I can set my mind on things above.

4.  Ephesians 4:23-I can be made new in the attitude of my mind; put on a new self.

5.  Romans 8:6-I can have life and peace.

6.  Hebrews 3:1-I can fix my thoughts on Jesus.

7.  Philippians 4:7-I can have a guarded heart and mind.

When I read a list like this. I judge myself right away. Saying things like "But I can't keep my thoughts on you. It's so hard. I don't know how to." Do you doubt like I do?

Try these next steps to further adjust your thinking.
1. Look over the list. Which of the 7 do you tell yourself "no" or "I don't experience this or understand this."
2. Pray over the list.
3. Ask God to help you in the next days to understand each verse deeply.

My friend we can share in this heavenly calling and win. In the next days I will explore each verse with you. Let's commit to understand how we can be calm and win by knowing these scripture truths.

For today read over the list look up number one in your bible or go to www.biblegateway.com
It is a simple verse. Just meditate and memorize it. I'll write about it next time.

Blessings,
Elaine
