SIMPLE TRUST

Simple Trust in the LORD
A Song of Ascents. Of David.
Psalm 131
My heart is not proud, O LORD,
my eyes are not haughty;
I do not concern myself with great matters
or things too wonderful for me.
But I have stilled and quieted my soul;
like a weaned child with its mother,
like a weaned child is my soul within me.
O Israel, put your hope in the LORD
both now and forevermore.

Dear Friend:

Look at this 3 verse song.
Is your heart proud, so proud that you won't invite God in?
Do you see things your way only? Or do you except the word of God?
The things you are thinking you can't control or understand, do you still concern yourself with those thoughts?
How was David able to still his thoughts and quiet his soul?

David said "O Israel, put your hope in the LORD both now and forevermore.

Prayer of Confession: Lord I have participated in thinking thoughts and matters to wonderful for me. (list these thoughts and matters) I have not been trusting. Forgive me for playing these thoughts over and over in my head. Your word says "present your prayer and thanksgiving to You and you will guard my heart and mind." Help me to learn this important lesson. I put my hope in You. In Jesus name. Amen.
