HATORADE

Someone asked an angry friend "did you, like, drink some Hatorade today?" Right away I was all over that word. What a funny question. This is precisely the way slang funny words are created today. We all know Gatorade was invented with the idea that it is a high performance drink that absorbs quickly into your body to give you energy to activate your muscles. If there was a drink called Hatorade after drinking it would absorb quickly into your soul then cause you to spew hate out your mouth. Spewing words is an age old problem. The proverbial To Talk without Thinking will always get you into trouble. We often catch ourselves saying "it is so hard at times to watch what we say." A binding exchange of promises with God should help us to watch what we say but not always. Nobody is perfect! If we have any conscious then perhaps we feel like Paul when he said "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do." If your saying "It is hard at times doing good", I concur with you. You reply fast to a friend and end up saying things wrong or you got hurt and you just want to hurt them back. Can you identify with that? But the good news is that we have a God that can help us stay away from Hatorade. Just pray! Father in heaven I have trouble at times doing good. I ask you to give me the strength to say and do the right things. Thanks for listening. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

What am I going to be when I grow up?

Dear Friend:

Do you ever ask yourself “Why doesn’t someone just tell me what to do?” Whoops! I have you God! You designed me! To know what kind of a car to buy a dealership would recommend we know about the make and model. God knows my make and model and what is the best direction for me to go. Can’t he just phone me up and say “Now today go do this and then this and then come home make dinner and then your day is done.”

Boy am I rambling or what? Really do I want someone to tell what me what to do? Would I really listen? I guess if I don’t get any strong leading on any given day I should do what I always do and just be at peace. I guess I am talking to myself right now.

Things are what they should be. I pray, worship and read God’s word. God is my friend and I don’t believe he would allow me to be taken in the wrong direction. But I do believe he can change the course at anytime. That doesn’t mean we were going the wrong way. It just means there is a new way. People, places, things to see may be different, but your life may seem generally the same.

Writing is a way for God to get my attention. He is talking to me first and I glean from that. I need it! Others just see what I just had to get straight in my head. So what do I do with my writing. I pass it on. I guess I don’t have to. It is for me to learn.

What about you? Do you have hobbies that excite you! Maybe that won't become your life work, but it sure makes your day brighter.

Take one day at a time. Don't strive for answers that just aren't coming to you.
They will come when they come. God bless you on your journey. As I say at hospital visits “Give God the glory, show His glory through your everyday living.”
