There are times in our lives when we protect are children from crabby relatives, friends, teachers or just about anyone who would disturb their space. As Mother's we have a built in instinct to protect at all cost. That is our flesh and blood after all! It's fair to say "Don't come between a mother and her children."
I was struck by the courage and determination of one mother in the Bible who faced adversity because of the command put out by Pharaoh, who decreed that all Hebrew newborn babies be killed. I am referring to Moses' mother who was not afraid of the king's command. Moses was kept hidden till he was three months old boy and then his mother realized it was too dangerous to keep him so put him in a basket and released him into the river Nile. He was found and raised by Pharaoh's daughter. Moses should have been dead. Moses's mother had so much faith and
courage to hide her son. She knew the still voice of God enough to
relinquish her son to Pharaoh, the original "Crabby pants."
Mother's day is approaching. I think about mother child relationships and how they ebb and flow. No matter what happens moms love their children. Today we should thank our mother's for all they have done in our lives. If your mother is no longer alive, maybe acknowledge another mother who you admire in your life. Pray for the mothers all over the world that are fighting for their children each day.
Maybe you are having a tough time with one of your children. Pray for them on this special day. Thank God for their life. Ask God to bless them with the ability to reconcile. If you they call and things are awkward, ask God to give you the right words to say to them. Choose your words wisely. Bless your children and do not curse them.
A mother's love is special. Moses' mother taught us that God is the giver of courage and faith. He will be the one to help us to deal with people who are crabby.

By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months
by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not
afraid of the king's command.
